The owners of a pub plagued by ghostly goings-on are set to call in investigators in a bid to discover why the venue is a hotspot for paranormal activity.
Paul Donnor, owner of the Park Gate Inn, Cannock Wood, is considering calling in the ghostbusters after a spate of unexplained occurrences.
Ghostly figures, floating orbs and inexplicable temperature changes have been reported by staff and visitors to the pub - parts of which date back to the 1600s.
Paul said: “I’ve experienced many things at the pub which cannot be explained.
“It is notoriously paranormal and renowned around here for being haunted. We are considering holding a paranormal evening later in the year with investigators to see what we can find out.”

Are Oklahoma City ghosts to blame for NBA Knicks’ loss?
It’s not Halloween, but some humiliated New York Knicks players are blaming ghosts for their trashing Monday by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
It was inevitable, really, that the legend of the Skirvin Hilton Hotel’s 10th floor being haunted would become a national story. Now, it appears, the tale is at least getting around in the sports world.
But is there any truth to the legend of a housekeeper named Effie being impregnated by hotelier W.B. Skirvin and then jumping to her death, baby in arms, from a 10th floor window?
Official Skirvin Hilton response:
"We’re happy to have been able to host the New York Knicks, and certainly from my perspective nothing in or around the hotel affected their stay. The superstitions of some of their players perhaps got the best of them. We’re glad they stayed with us, and we’re proud to be an NBA city.”

general manager

Tweance, the Twitter seance, 'contacts Michael Jackson and Kurt Cobain'
The Tweance, the Twitter séance, has reported that Michael Jackson is “at peace”, and Kurt Cobain thinks Dave Grohl is a good drummer.
The Tweance: Tweeting beyond the grave Photo: TWITTER The Hallowe’en publicity stunt, carried out by “psychic” Jayne Wallace on behalf of a London fancy dress store, also claimed to have contacted Kurt Cobain and River Phoenix.
William Shakespeare, sadly for English Literature students hoping to get a few insights, was too weak to be contacted, apparently.
Cobain’s ghost revealed to Miss Wallace and her “psychic sisters” that Dave Grohl is a “good drummer” and that people should buy their children real guitars, rather than Guitar Hero computer games.

Researchers Say Photo of Jim Morrison's Ghost Is Real

Jim Morrison has been dead for almost four decades, but a snapshot belonging to longtime rock historian Brett Meisner allegedly shows the Doors frontman haunting his own grave. And now, just in time for Halloween, researchers now claim the image is authentic.
Back in 1997, Meisner decided to take a snapshot next to the rock legend's grave in the famous Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris, not exactly an uncommon thing to do considering some 1,000 people visit the grave daily. The photo, taken by Meisner's assistant, shows the historian casually standing next to Morrison's plot with one hand in his pocket and a white cloudy shadow to his left, the latter going unnoticed until Meisner finally decided to revisit the photo in 2002. The cloudy, obscure image to Meisner's left to be the deceased singer himself.

Anna Friel Watched By Ghost
If Anna Friel was more than a little nervous for her official West End debut as Holly Golightly in Breakfast At Tiffany's last night, there may be an explanation.
For Anna - who strips for the new stage adaptation of the role made famous by Audrey Hepburn - has confided to friends she believes there is a ghost haunting the Theatre Royal Haymarket
'Anna has told pals in the production team she feels she is being observed and followed to the wings by people that she cannot see,' a friend told the Daily Mail's Richard Kay.
'She has even joked it could be Truman Capote [the story's

Ghosts Exorcised From Irish House
THE ghosts of six children have been 'cleared' from a house in Tullyallen, the Drogheda Independent can reveal.
The house is thought by one of the mediums who carried out the clearing to have been built on the site of an ancient graveyard or soldiers' encampment.
The terrified homeowner, who doesn't want his identity revealed, says he can now sleep for the first time in almost ten years.
'I bought the house from new nine years ago, and although I've always been a good sleeper, I've never slept well in this house,' he says.
'I could never see anything, but I always knew there was something, or someone there, and you could really feel the presence very strongly.'
It finally reached the stage where he had to seek advice and contacted local mediums, who agreed to visit the house.

Spookiest Spots In Britain Revealed
If you're at all scared of ghosts, make sure you steer clear of Kent.
The county is home to more paranormal beings than anywhere else in Britain, a study revealed today.
It also suggests you're most likely to glimpse a UFO in Yorkshire, while the country's most famous werewolf lives in Staffordshire.
A phantom hitchhiker getting into motorists' cars, a Lancashire time-warp slip road that takes you back to the 1940s and the ghost of a one-legged priest were among the reported incidents. The findings come from the work of paranormal researcher Lionel Fanthorpe, 74, from Cardiff.
He has analysed sightings from across the country over the past 25 years to come up with a list of Britain's spookiest places.

Paranormal experts probe stately home
A GROUP of paranormal experts spent the weekend at Muncaster Castle debating whether things really do go bump in the night.
The conference, last weekend was organised by Dr Jason Braithwaite from Birmingham University who has been investigating Muncaster’s “ghosts” for more than 17 years.
Top scientists, sceptics, psychics and believers in the paranormal discussed a range of topics including ghosts, UFOs, out of body experiences and conspiracy beliefs.
Dr Braithwaite said after the event: “The conference really has exceeded my expectations. This event was unusual in bringing both sceptics like me and believers together to discuss these controversial subjects. The quality of the speakers and audience has been outstanding.

6 Year Ghost Ordeal For Derry Woman
A Derry woman has spoken publicly for the first time of her six year ordeal at the hands of ghostly spirits which she claims haunt her home.
Speaking to the 'Journal', the woman said both she and her family have been left terrified by the ongoing weird happenings at her Shantallow home.
She said evidence of the supernatural - including the apparent voice of a ghost saying " I will kill you" - have been captured by psychic investigators who have regularly visited her home.
Among the raft of unexplained events she claims have plagued her since she moved in to the property in 2003 are the appearance of ghostly figures in the middle of the night, foul smells filling her home and drawers opening and closing of their own accord.

Robbie Williams' Haunted House
ROBBIE WILLIAMS is no stranger to spooky goings-on.
Just last week he spoke openly about his close encounters with UFOs while living in LA.
So his feathers are not in the least bit ruffled by the discovery that he's sharing his £7million Wiltshire pile with a ghost.
And not just any old ghost.
The country mansion Rob and his missus AYDA FIELD now call home was once inhabited by HENRY VIII's sixth and last wife CATHERINE PARR.

Ghost hunters to stake out site of 1910 train disaster
Listen and look carefully, some say, and the past still is present at the lost town of Wellington.
Voices seem to whisper among the branches. They may speak of the tragedy a century ago when a wall of snow swept away more than 96 lives.
Shadows linger where the town once stood, where trains once rumbled, where the nation's worst avalanche disaster swept rail cars away like leaves on the wind.
Today, all that's left of Wellington are a few derelict buildings, the hollow of the old Cascade Tunnel and, some ghost hunters say, the busy bustle of spirits.
“It's very active,” said Vaughn Hubbard, 62, a Monroe researcher and historian with the Northwest Paranormal Investigation Agency.
The site of the avalanche disaster is ranked by ghost hunters as one of the top three haunted locations in the state.

Ghosts don't haunt... they suffer
WE provide them with sumptuous feasts, burn large amounts of joss paper for their benefit, entertain them with shows and stay out of their way in the hope that they steer clear of ours too.
But to have fear as the driver for the celebration is perhaps the most misunderstood part of the Hungry Ghost Festival.
"We give the hungry ghosts food and offer them a lot of things not because we are scared of them, but because we sympathise with them," says religious studies expert Professor Ong Seng Huat.
Sympathy? Sounds like a foreign concept at a time when people avoid throwing parties for fear of attracting unearthly "gatecrashers" and the young are advised to stay home at night to minimise contact with denizens of the netherworld.

Bell County Ghostbusters
Some normal Bell County folks say they are dead serious about investigating the paranormal. These mothers, students and working people known as Central Texas Ghost Hunters are adamant they are nothing like the TV shows, or movies, or those repetitive song lyrics, "Who you gonna call?"
Their mission: build a ghost database akin to what police do with criminals and their fingerprints.
"This is paranormal research. This is not thrill seekers. This is not like a ghost hunting tour, like you go and people take you out to cemeteries. We don’t do anything like that," said Brandy Runyan, 30, founder and team leader. "We are legitimate. We are legal. We don’t trespass. We’re registered with the state of Texas. We’re an unincorporated non-profit."
